Jill Brewer, born in Indianapolis, moved to Terre Haute, Indiana, when she was 2 days old. She began learning the violin from her grandfather, who owned Brewer's music store in Terre Haute. She studied violin with Mrs. Elizabeth Grey -- Concert Mistress of the Indianapolis Symphony, Dr. Earle Melendy at Indiana State University, and Joseph Gingold at Indiana University.

Jill played professionally for 9 years in the Denver Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and the NBC Orchestra. She worked with hundreds of well-known composers in recording studios in California. Closer to home, she played in the Terre Haute Symphony, The Bloomington Symphony, and the Danville Illinois Symphony.

Jill taught orchestra in the Vigo County School Corporation for 39 years, and continues to coach middle and high school string students. She is presently an adjunct instructor at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. She teaches private lessons in violin, viola, and cello.

In Jill's "free time" (ha ha!), she writes and plays music, sews, teaches, and enjoys her many foster animals from the Terre Haute Humane shelter.
